I've stayed at The Lime Tree hotel but they are booked for my trip in July. Does anyone have a preference between these two properties?

I haven't stayed at either of them myself, but I did have a nice stay at the Cromwell Crown Hotel, which has poorer reviews than both your options, so I'm assuming you'll make a good choice no matter what :)
The only difference seems to be in terms of location... try to pick the one that fits your itinerary best.

Check out reviews via the search engine as I know posters have stayed in both, then read Tripadvisor reviews, then see which locale best suits your needs. Good Luck.

Kate, we stayed at Darlington Hyde park last June, as a couple, for 6 nights. the room we had was large, the breakfast was very good and the location at Paddington was perfect for us, catching the tube, buses and the train to Heathrow and outside london, we are booked in for a few nights, next week, so I am hoping it hasn't changed since last year. the breakfast staff were very good. we even walked to hyde park, oxford street from there.
