Have any of you been to the small Cross Bath in Bath? It is the smaller, older open-air thermal bath that is less expensive than the Thermae roof top pool. They will only take reservations 48 hours in advance for a 1.5 hour soak. I think the maximum capacity is 10 people. I emailed them and asked if I could reserve before I left the US more than 48 hours in advance and they were firm in their no response.
We will be arriving in Bath by motorcoach tour around noon after our sunrise Stonehenge tour. We plan to tour the Roman Baths with admission included in our Stonehenge tour and then stay on in town to visit the Cross Bath and make our way back to London via train later in the evening- IF we can get a reservation.
If any of you have visited this bath, I would love to hear about your experience. Are the spots hard to get on a Monday afternoon in June? How far of a walk is it from the bath to the train station? Are the return only train tickets very expensive on the day of travel?
Would getting them in London 48 hours in advance save us any money? Thanks in advance for any help!
