We will be traveling in June. From the US to Heathrow for 3 days. Eurostar to France for 4 days and then back to the UK. Flying home from there. Are Covid tests required before you board a flight/coming and going and also on the Eurostar? Have any of you experienced this? Thanks.
You will need to test in the UK prior to your flight to return to the USA under current policy. You need to test no earlier than one day prior to departure. For example, if you fly out on Tuesday, you could test any time on Monday on through Tuesday prior to your flight.
Thanks, Carol. May I ask where you went for your Covid test before your flight? So, I'm assuming neither the US or France require a Covid test before entering?
Not sure if you meant US or UK in your latest post.
At this time the US does require you to test before your flight to the US. You can either take a test to do yourself like https://www.emed.com/products/covid-at-home-testkit-six-pack or schedule a test either at the airport or a testing center. https://www.expresstest.co.uk/london-heathrow-airport/
There are other places you could get this done
The train from the UK to France does require a negative test or certification of recovery if you are not vaccinated. https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr or https://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/service-information/coronavirus-and-eurostar-service/travel-requirements.
The upper level of St Pancras, where the Eurostar is, has a Collinsons—I got my test done there a couple of weeks ago, very easy to book in advance, approximately $40 US. Negative result in 40 minutes that I took a screenshot of to upload to United’s app.
