Question: Has anyone traveled to the UK, specifically England, recently? I've just read (on gov.uk) that covid testing is no longer required for entry, only proof of vaccine. Is this really true? We're planning a trip to London now in May (see, far off, I know). I loathe the idea of a positive test scuttling a trip two days beforehand, so this is welcome news.
what you need to know with effect from 11 Feb
it's on the official webpage
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19
but come May you need to check again
Yes, the rules are changing, but they will probably change again before June. So without testing, if you are Covid positive you can just bring your infection here and spread it to all you meet - this is what the new rules mean, unfortunately.
I took a short 4 day trip to Scotland last week. I took a LFT beforehand just to ensure I was clear to be fair to those I came into contact with. If I was positive, I wouldn’t have travelled.
