covid test in London

Has anyone travelled recently to London and stayed near Trafalgar Square? If so, where did you go to get your COVID test? Googling, it looks like all the locations for testing are a couple of miles away from that area.. ( Fingers crossed that this will no longer be required by late May, but who knows.... )

Is it possible to get the test done at Heathrow before we head into London? If so,, where is the exact location - LHR is huge!

Yes you can get tested at Heathrow terminals 2, 3, and 5. The same company also has other testing locations such as, Victoria and Paddington station, and others. Some Boots pharmacies also test.

There are plenty of places to get the day 2 test done. So many in fact it can be overwhelming. We used Expresstest at Heathrow Airport (terminal 2, but they also have sites at other terminals) and I'd say it was an efficient use of time. They also have locations in central London if you prefer - I have used the Paddington Station site as well. But getting it done at the airport would be my advice.

I have also used Biogroup at Bond Street (so a 20 minute walk from Trafalgar Square). Equally, you can get the test done at a Boots pharmacy - but you need to book online first.

Hope that helps - you've got plenty of time and the rules may well change.

We flew in and out of Heathrow as a connecting airport on our way to and from the USA to Teesside International (a small airport in Northeast England). We tested both arriving and departing from Heathrow using express test. There are a few locations in Heathrow. It was pretty straightforward. We tested at the terminal 3 and terminal 2 locations. The testing site was well posted and when you select your location in Heathrow you can choose arrivals or departures for your location. We are also returning in May, so I am also hoping the testing is done by then. I have heard that it is going to be done at the end of January, so I would hold off booking anything if you can, because the test companies only offer credit and not refunds.

If you are talking about your day 2 test, it must be reserved and paid for online before you get on the plane. You can have it sent to your hotel and do it yourself. You then take a photo and upload it to the lab. Very easy.

I used this company twice.
