Coventry Cathedral: Where Light Falls

Any of you in the vicinity of Coventry may want to catch this event, 14 thru 16 November, from 5 to 9 PM. "Join us for Where Light Falls, a spectacular installation of light, history and poetry. The event is a free, outdoor event. Please wear warm clothing. The main light show lasts approximately 10 minutes and will be repeated throughout the evening, so please arrive anytime between 5 and 8.30pm."

The event commemorates the bombing on 14 November 1940, which killed hundreds of people and left the cathedral in ruins; and celebrates the resilience and rebuilding of the cathedral and surrounding community.

A similar "Where Light Falls" event took place in October at St. Paul's Cathedral.

If you can't attend in person, they are also streaming it on You Tube.

Thanks, that sounds interesting. I'll try to catch it on YouTube. I suspect Coventry doesn't get a big write-up in RS' guidebooks, but it's worth visiting for those with time to escape the usual suspects. As well as the cathedrals, it is home to a very good transport museum.

Oh my. I am sure that is a powerful presentation. Thanks for posting!

Last visited Coventry in the 1980s (when the Royal Agriculture Show was still being held nearby) and found the cathedral area very interesting.
