Cotswolds Tour

We will be doing a 10 hour Cotswolds Tour from 8:00am-5:00pm. We are considering doing a food tour that night from 6:00pm-9:00pm however we aren't sure if we will be tired from the all day tour of Cotswolds as I'm thinking we will be driving most of the time. Has anyone done the Cotswolds Tour and can they tell me if they were exhausted afterwards. We might be biting off more then we can chew!!!

Thank you for your help/suggestions!!!

Is there only one Cotswolds tour? Perhaps you could mention the name of the tour and the tour company, so people might know if they have taken it or not. Bear in mind that everyone has diffrent exercise tolerances and energy levels. Time of year and daily temperatures will also be factors. Is the food tour in the same city as your tour drop off? Is it on foot?

Only you know what your stamina is for doing a full day tour followed by an evening food tour.

It is the Best of the Cotswold tour that lasts approximately 10 hours stopping at several small towns. The food tour is on foot and is Soho and Chinatown. And true we are an older group but I do have more energy then most so I am second guessing whether I may have overbooked us based on my energy tolerance. Trying to get the most in during a short amount of stay.

Our other option is to skip the food tour and eat at a nice restaurant in the Knightsbridge area if someone has a restaurant suggestion that is walkable in the Knightsbridge area.

I'm sure I would be able to power through but wondered if anyone else had done the all day tour and if they were wiped out by the end of it. Our group of 7 ranges in age from 35-74. I'm on the upper end of that range.

Again, without knowing the tour operator's name, no one could say how tiring a 10 hour tour might be for someone they dont know. A quick glance at Google shows literally dozens of 10 hour tours available from different sources. Do we assume that the tour begins and ends in London, since that appears to be where your food tour is located? You mention that you think you can power through a day like this. But does everyone else on your group match your physical condition?

Yes you are correct. the tour begins and ends at our hotel in Knightsbridge. No a few of the participates do not have the same stamina level as myself. I was initially thinking we would be in a car for the majority of the day so really how tired would we really be but then began to question if that alone would be very tiring. That is why I wondered if anyone had done the tour and if they felt drained from it.

After that day tour, I would just want a sandwich from M&S for dinner, then bed-you will have gotten up fairly early in the morning.. I think the Food Tour would be a forced march at best. With the food tour, you are talking about touring non-stop from 8 AM-9 PM. And what if you get back later than 5 from your Cotswolds tour? I missed a light show in Rome that I had signed up for when my tour to Orvieto and Assisi returned late. There were no unusual circumstances or traffic on the tour, so I don't know what the problem was. Food tours are expensive, so you would lose a lot of money if you didn't get back in time.

I usually find that after a day trip out if London, I don't particularly feel like heading out for dinner, much less a food tour. At that point a sandwich from Pret would be all I could handle. But everyone's different.

Incidentally, if you're looking for a Chinatown restaurant recommendation, rather than a food tour, I like Old Town 97 on Wardour St.

10 hour Cotswolds Tour from 8:00am-5:00pm

we don't know the name of the tour company so can't be properly helpful

but I do know that 8 to 5 isn't 10 hours. That's 9 hours - so does the tour actually return at 6? If so, no chance to be in Soho for 6. Or does it start at 7? So up nice and early at the hotel for all 7 of you?

Or do they exaggerate the 10 hours?
