Cotswolds to Ironbridge

We are traveling from Bath to Cotswold and then to Ironbridge. I am wondering where is best to sleep. I have tentatively scheduled 1 day for Cotswolds and 2 days Ironbridge (family area)... Are the two areas far enough apart to warrant separate sleeping arrangements... does anyone have suggestions or experience?

The Cotswolds are a large area.

Exactly where do you intend to stay in the Cotswolds?

Where in Ironbridge is your family located?

Need clarity to help answer your query.

time of year? Any walking or mobility restrictions? How many is "we"? (got burned when found my suggestions for a couple were for 11 and my suggestions didn't work)

There will be 4 adults and 2 children 2, 7; in early October. No mobility issues and we will have cars and want to stay one night in Cotswolds (maybe ? I think) (arriving from Bath)... maybe M5 north to Cutnall Green (family history) and on to Ironbridge (family history)...(2 nights in this area-3 nights total) then on to York.

A number of years ago we stayed at Best Western Valley Hotel just outside Ironbridge and it was fine. It’s a half mile from the bridge and 2.6 miles from Blists Hill Victorian Town.

Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Chipping Campden and Broadway are some of the better Cotswold villages - but they are quite a way NE of Bath.

When going to Ironbridge, you might like The Severn Valley Railway.

thank you all so much for helping me... I think my question is: are the areas close enough together to stay in one place and drive daily to where we want to go or should we sleep in one area and then sleep in the other?

this isn't going to help much, but you could happily do both.

Bath via some of the Cotswold area and then popping out near Kidderminster and Droitwich Spa, maybe Worcester, is easily done in a day. Up through Shropshire as far as Ironbridge then makes it a long and too busy day.

The problem is that there is just so much to do and see around every corner you will need to do serious pruning.

If you wanted to avoid moving you could stay somewhere central to both locations. Worcester would be good. You’re about an hour from the Cotswolds and from Ironbridge. I actually have never been to Worcester so I don’t know much about it but it’s a very old town so presumably has some interesting aspects.
