Cotswolds rental car and return?

We are ending a week long antiquing tour in Malmsebury then staying an extra few days in the Cotswolds in Kingham at a Daylesford Farm cottage. Will head to London for our last two nights before flying home.

Looks like the best place to pick up a rental car is in Chippenham. Question is where is the best place to return rental? Drop at Heathrow Enterprise location or stop in Oxford Enterprise on our way back into London? Or find another spot along the way? Is Heathrow rental car return drop easy and could we easily get a ride into the city from there?

Oxford is possible but driving in the city can be challenging and the hire car depots are not that handy for the station at the moment with road works. You could just go back to Chippenham - a bit out of the way but you would avoid any one-way fees and you can get a train straight into Paddington from there. Or you could do the same in Reading or Swindon. Heathrow also fine although you do need to take a shuttle from the depots to pick up public transport into London.
