I am planning to travel with family on a walk through the Cotswolds this July. I am preparing for crowds but was hoping to spend most time walking. I am not a huge fan of swarms of people, and I just realized that our travel plans are in the middle of the RAF Air Show. We will be staying towards Moreton-on-Marsh during this time, and I was wondering how impactful this will be in terms of traffic, noise, and more crowds on top of other crowds. Will we be able to find quiet corners to escape or should we consider pushing back a week if possible?
which air show are you noticing? The one at Cosford?
If so, Cosford is many miles away from any of the Cotswolds, and Moreton in Marsh is not close to the northern edge of the Cotswolds.
Cosford is between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton in a completely different county - it is 80 miles away. It will have zero effect.
If you mean RAF Fairford 14 to 16 July that's on the south side of the Cotswolds, about 25 to 30 miles from Moreton, which is on the northern fringe of the Cotswolds.
So little or no impact that I can see, except you may or may not see some unusual overhead aircraft movements.
Folk will use the M4 and M5/A417 to reach Fairford.
