Is it possible to rent a car (automatic) in The Cotswolds? Coming up empty on google. Taking the train to Morton. Hate to book a group tour. So many beautiful places.
Not in Moreton.
Look at Autoeurope.com on-line for a rental out of Oxford.
Who do you rent with in the States?
Check for Budget, Avis, Alamo, Hertz, Enterprise websites in the Cotswolds.
I got my rental in Oxford and explored the Cotswolds from there.
Based in a BnB accommodation in Winchcombe. (No longer available)
Enjoyed Christmas carols at Sudley Castle. Dined in Broadway more than once. Drove the wee roads along the rolling hills. Drove from Winchcombe to Bela’s Knap. Drove from Winchcombe to the Broadway Tower and back.
Best discovery was Hailes Abbey. Had it all to myself to wander about and contemplate.

Just a couple of minutes walk away is the delightful Hailes Church which is actually older than the abbey. It is worth visiting for the 13th-century wall paintings of saints, coats of arms, and hunting scenes.
Claudia,
Just had to jump in and say Hailes Abbey was one of our best discoveries as well. For some reason, it had not come up in any of our reading. We just stumbled onto it on a walk from Winchcombe to Stanton. A very friendly "ranger" (?) in the visitors center gave us a free copy of the guide book.

you can find rental cars in Cheltenham and in Oxford The one tiny place in Moreton in Marsh closed quite a few years ago.
Rented a car in Oxford and picked it up at the train station……trained there from London……like you needed that car in the Cotswolds and loved having it! Turned it back in at Oxford as well and trained back to London.
