have a 9 am flight out of Heathrow T2 - worried Tube won't get us there in time on a Saturday morning for an international flight check in - anyone know about how much a cab would be to go to Heathrow?

Google Taxi FareFinder London and you can estimate cost. I'm taking Heathrow Express myself when there this August . You can print your tickets out ahead of time. More expensive then connect but to me worth extra cost .

You can get discounts on the Heathrow Express by booking online in advance, but if the OP is starting from Kings Cross and not Paddington, I wouldn't think the HEX would save any time, which is his or her concern.
As advised, a pre-booked car service will be less expensive than a black cab. If you want to go by road, I would pre-book a car service and save money over a taxi.

You don't mention how many people or what day of the week you are traveling. Checking Just Airports(www.justairports.com) from St Pancras to Heathrow for a Saturday morning 5 am pickup, fares as low as £28. Our daughter used them in January and liked the service. We'll be using them in June.
