Does anyone know about how much a taxi costs from Heathrow to the Victoria Station area in London?
Seventy-five bucks, about.
If you don't want to use the tube then use a car service - much less expensive than a taxi. Friends of mine have had good results with Just Airports.
Rick's book estimates 45 - 75 pounds one way. I do believe that, against my advice, my crazy then-fiancé did pay about $100 each way for taxis when he had a short layover in London.
If you don't want to spend for a taxi and you don't want to deal with the Tube from Heathrow, consider the Heathrow Express to Paddington (much faster and much more comfortable than the Tube) and then a taxi over to where you are staying near Victoria Station.

The HEX is mile for mile one of the most expensive rail journeys in the world, Paddington is also nowhere near Victoria Station and add in the cost of a taxi, not a cost effective option.
We ended up reserving a taxi through our hotel for 40 pds, Thank goodness because it looks like the Tube will be on strike for the second of three days the day we arrive. Should be a mad house at Heathrow with all the flights coming in and no Tube. Hopefully our reserved Taxi will show up for us!
