I will be spending one week in Cornwall in September. I will take the train from London and use public transportation. I am looking for a town to stay in that has good public transportation; I will rent a house or apartment there. I am still investigating Cornwall but know that I want to hike on Bodmin Moor. Any ideas? Thank you.
Our one and only trip to Cornwall was in 2001 and we took the train to Truro and arranged a car hire through our hotel to take us to St. Mawes.
This website has information about public transportation throughout Cornwall. Apologies if you're already familiar with it.
It will probably be best for you to take a train to Truro as that is an important central hub in Cornwall. Trains = www.nationalrail.co.uk - be sure to pre-book a specific train(s) for long journeys such as London to Truro as pay on the day fares can be high - though these are OK for short journeys.
