We are spending six nights in Cornwall and staying in Fowey, The Lizard, Mousehole and Padstow (Port Issac). Can any one recommend guides for walking tours? After eight RS tours I have come to appreciate value of local guide.

I have just returned from 6 nights in Fowey. We walked without a guide, but used the Southwest Coast Path website. The website for Lostwithiel, www.lostwithiel.org, also has some walks with very good directions. Get the Ordnance Survey Explorer maps for the areas you want to walk. They can be downloaded to your phone so you know right where you are at all times.
In Fowey we did the Hall Walk, adding a loop out on the SWCP, walked the SWCP to Polkerris and back on The Saints Way (long day, but worth it), and walked a loop around Lostwithiel to Restormel Castle. We also kayaked up to Golant, so much fun to be on the River. You will love Fowey. Have a great time!
Dear Laura and James,
I have followed all your tips and feel confident about not using a guide in Cornwall. I am going to try and down offline Google maps. Laura, I do have the OS maps. Thank you for mentioning your actual hikes. We leave Sat. Sally
