I made quick visits to Mevagissey, Charlestown and St Mawes and enjoyed them all. I was actually staying in Falmouth on a Road Scholar tour. I liked Falmouth a lot as well but it's bigger.
If you are looking for things to do, I really liked the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Very interesting gardens and story. They have a specimen of a Douglas Fir which was, according to the guide we had for the garden tour, brought back from the New World/Western US by David Douglas himself (1820's or so). I thought that was pretty cool.
