Confirm or improve travel AI London guided tour recommendations?

I asked a few AI chatbots -- Mindtrip, Vacay, & Copilot -- to recommend highly rated guided tours of London. This is the companies they jointly suggested:

  • London Walks
  • Context Travel
  • ToursByLocals

They also mentioned Ye Olde England Tours, Tours From Antiquity, and Let Me Show You London as good specialty companies.

Can you help me choose from among them, and/or recommend specific tours?

Our interests are historical and cultural (not particularly food, drink, or art).

Thanks!

Hands down, London Walks. www.walks.com

Take on each time I’m in London. Last visit (2022) took the Inns of the Court walk.

See if any are of interest to you.

London Walks does seem to be the most frequently recommended tour company.

Looks like it's London Walks. They have several that sound good for us.

A follow-up question -- is traffic noise much of a problem?

Thanks.

Traffic noise is occasionally a problem right at the beginning of a tour because all LW tours meet up just outside a Tube station, so if it’s a busy street…but soon you’re off and walking.

If at any point you are having trouble hearing, do tell the guide so they are aware, and of course try to stand close to the guide when they are explaining a sight, rather than at the back of the group.

Many of the LW guides have theatre backgrounds so they are pretty skilled at projecting their voice to be heard.

Before covid I took the London Walks tour to Greenwich. It was wonderful and I highly recommend. You meet outside the London Tower Tube stop (at a coffee kiosk.) Then you take a boat to Greenwich and have your guided walk. At the end you are let loose to find your own way back. They explain all your options very clearly and I took the Docklands Lite Railway back to London.

I’ve never had a bad experience with London walks so I’ve never felt and they need to look at any other options
