Collecting advance rail tickets

For my May trip I have purchased several online advance rail tickets and designed pickup at different stations with ticket machines.

Do I really need to pickup the tickets at the designated stations, or can I use any ticket machine at any station to retrieve the tickets?

We picked up ours at one station, different from the one designated at the time of ticket purchase. You do need the credit card linked to the purchase.

any station is OK - booking reference and card needed - prepare for an avalanche of paper tickets!

Giving a list of stations acts mainly these days as a cross check so people don't go to a station to collect without the facilities, especially if this is where they are intending to start their journey. You could have selected the same station for all the tickets anyway.

Thanks. I got this idea from wording on the London Midland site but wasn't sure if other train operating companies did the same.

which station do you intend to collect the tickets at?

when you do collect them wait for all the bits of ticket to print - they are all important and printing takes a while....

you should be able to find plenty of machines and plenty of helpful staff (and one grump) at Paddington.

I like to imagine I've walked past Nigel without knowing it, on one of my train trips around the UK. He's my train hero!!
