Has anyone done this? Was there any additional value over the self-guided tour? Were there areas the tour went that were not accessible with general admission? Were you able to linger afterwards?

There is a thorough audio guide included - but that Secrets tour is only an extra £10 so if you want deeper insight, that really is a good price.
I have overheard the guides when visiting and they are clearly very knowledgeable - the tour starts before the CWR opens, but not aware of it going anywhere the general admission allows. You can then explore on your own afterwards

Be sure to check out the other Imperial War Museums: www.iwm.org.uk . These include the Churchill War Room, the Imperial War Museum, HMS Belfast, North London and Duxford Air Base which has scheduled Air Shows on June 24 & 25 2023.
