Chester train station

Hello. I will be traveling from Liverpool to Conwy and the train I want to book has a 10 min transfer in Chester. Never being in the Chester station before, is this a realistic amount of time? Will I safely be able to make the Conwy train or is that cutting it too close.
Thank you!

Note that 2 routes operate between Liverpool & Chester. One is operated by Transport for Wales and goes hourly via Runcorn; the other is operated by Mersey Rail & is a multi stop service.

You have an advertised connection and if for any reason you fail to connect, you have the right to get the next train heading west along the north Wales coast. Conwy is a request stop so let the guard on the train know that you wish to get off at Conwy - they will be well aware that many tourists use this station. The train west from Chester is probably going to Holyhead.

In the event that the next train west is not going to stop at Conwy, get off at Llandudno Junction = about 1 mile east - & then take a bus. (Trains to Llandudno will branch off at LJ & not go through Conwy).

You may also be able to claim compensation from the train company that made you late.
