Chelsea Area London

Hello, we are hoping to stay in the Chelsea area of London in late June for approximately 7 nights. We realize the area is quite expensive. Our budget is $400-500 a night but would be pleased if the room was less dollars per night. It is not necessary for the hotel to have a restaurant or bar. A clean, quiet and quality room (safe area) is more important to my wife and I. Also the hotel does not have to be in Chelsea per se as long as it is close by the area. We are also considering Airbnb as an option. Thank you in advance for any comments or recommendations.

I would check out B&B listings for apartments w/kitchen. That way you can do Street Market and Grocery shopping for your eats. You can still go out to a Pub in the evening before the Theatre. You can do Take Out or Order In and relax after a full day of touring.
We enjoyed watching Brit TV.

Search "serviced apartments Chelsea" and you'll get a fair # of apartments/aparthotels
that could meet your needs.

Nell Gwynn and Chelsea Cloisters are two such complexes. I'm not saying they are
equivalent to 5* hotels, but they come in well under $500 a night.

All of Chelsea is a “safe area.” All of central London is safe. What kind of danger are you worried about, exactly?

Sorry to sound snappy, but I live in Chelsea, and can get defensive on its behalf. ;-)

So far, good suggestions about lodging from others.

One issue to look out for is that some parts of Chelsea can be quite a walk from the nearest tube station. Not a safety issue but the walking to and from could get pretty tedious after a few days.
