I might be staying at a hotel at Terminal 4 at Heathrow, but I believe my early flight will be at Terminal 2 (United).
I don't believe there are any trains between 4:30 and 5 a.m. How can I change terminals this early in the morning?
Thanks,
Mark

See this Tripadvisor forum thread on the H30 local bus that runs between terminals starting at 3:15 am.
Here is a PDF map of all the buses; H30 is in yellow boxes with green letters. You can look around the page for the schedule.

Apparently the early morning service is meant for employees but anyone can ride.
Mark, why not switch your hotel to the Hilton Garden Inn which is located between terminals 2 and 3. Really a good location for those early morning United flights.
Ed just gave excellent advice!
The H30 bus has changed (twice) since that trip advisor article and is now only T4 to T5 starting at 0520.
The wee hours service is now #H30EM. It leaves T4 Stop 11 every 20 minutes from 0317 to 0437 and takes 26 minutes to get to the Central Bus Station (for T2 and T3) via Terminal 5. It is now run by a company called BM coaches.
This most recent version of the service started around February this year.
There is also a bus N30 at 0447 and a bus 556 at 0430 (via Hatton Cross, 18 minute journey).
PS- It is not the first time that Heathrow map has been found to be out of date!
I've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn many times and will be back on Wedensday.
It's really in the parking garage of T2. I have stayed there for early morning flights out of T2 such as the one I will have in a little over two weeks. It's a five minute walk to departures.
I agree with the others and stay here instead of T4. It might cost a bit more but a lot less hassle on the morning of your departure.
I did look into that hotel and it's too expensive for me. Premiere at T4 is less than half the price and I do like it.
Thanks for the bus info. I did find a map and timetable.
I can't seem to find how much the bus is. Do you happen to have a link?
Mark
For the N30 and the N40 the £2 fare seems to be correct- those are run by Diamond Bus and National Express respectively.
But that leaflet does not include the H30EM noted above- my information is taken from the National Bus Service Database- https://bustimes.org/services/h30em-hatton-heathrow
Drilling down the H30EM started operation on 11 January 2024 (last updated 25 March 2024), the referenced leaflet is dated 16 December 2023.
The database in turn is derived from Traffic Commissioner's Registrations. I have never yet found an error within the database and trust it a lot more than other leaflets which might be found.
If there is still doubt about the status of the H30EM maybe check with the operator direct on [email protected], 020 8848 7711
There is an odd anomaly in the fares as I have a National Express Coachcard (anyone over 60 can get that) which gives me 1/3 off fares-so to me the N40 fare from Ealing Broadway is only £1.30.
And this is why it is best to get the information from a local!
Thank you, Stuart.
