Changing of the Guard

I'm confused about the Changing of the Guard schedule for Buckingham Palace for late May.
The Buckingham Palace website has dates listed:
May 25 (Mon), 26 (Tue), 28 (Thu), 30 (Sat). The Saturday event is listed as "Sunday Parade."

The website of the Household Division Seventh British Army Regiments has some different dates:
May 25 (Mon), 26 (Tue), 27 (Wed), 29 (Fri), 31 (Sun).

Can anyone with knowledge of how this works help explain?

Thanks!

Here is the official website

Changing of the Guard Calendar

Always verify closer to your planned date since the schedule is subject to change.

Unless you are really into huge crowds, I would suggest you attend
The King's Life Guard Ceremony at Horse Guard Parade. All the pomp and ceremony without the massive crowds. You'll actually be able to take pictures without strangers' heads in them.

Good advice from Jean. The ceremony I’m front of Buckingham Palace is a snooze fest with wayyyyyy too many people. We stood on the Victoria monument base and could not hear anything, including the music.

The comments about crowds are particularly apposite for those dates. May 25th is a bank holiday and the whole week is a school holiday in the UK so everywhere will be very busy.

Hi OP! I’m jumping in to say that jeanm is correct. Horse Guards is sooooooo superior. Magnificent horses! Scarlet greatcoats! Fascinating hats! A great backdrop, and far fewer folks to jostle around with.

Rick's guide has some good tips for how and where to see the good parts of the ceremony
