The official website indicates Changing of the Guard Buckingham Palace Forecourt every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. But then when I detail in to the calendar and schedule for Buckingham Palace Guard, most days are given with name of unit and musical support but Friday May 10 is not listed. Does this mean there is just no “special” unit/musical support on that date? That date fits our schedule but we could switch to May 8 if necessary.

On looking at the Household Cavalry's site [edit: Household Division - https://www.householddivision.org.uk/changing-the-guard-calendar ] my guess is that there's no changing of the guard Friday 10th and the Gurkhas continue until Sunday 12th.

That's great! You had nice weather for it too. It was lovely this morning.
I went to see the guards and their horses at Horseguards Parade when I was out walking last week. I was able to pet and chat to the horses :) One horse completely blanked me and didn't want to know, and the other was very friendly. I thanked the guards and they gave me a nod.
