Central London & Edinburgh Hotel suggestions

Hello,
Planning a London & Edinburgh visit and am looking for a nice Hotel in the center part of these cities - for ease of walking.
Not a formal five star hotel - but a nice one. Thank you

Please search the site for the MANY posts on these topics. Keep in mind that "Central London" is a huge area, so you might also want to read one of the MANY posts on which neighborhoods are "best" for which type of stays.

For Edinburgh, I really liked the Market Street Hotel (Sept. 2023).

For London, I really liked the Sanctuary House Hotel (Oct. 2024).

I thought the location of both hotels was excellent for being within walking distance of many of the main sights and public transportation.
