Celtic Horizon

Husband and I are taking Best of England in late August. Will arrive Heathrow at 7am on a Saturday.
I was considering having Celtic Horizon pick us up from airport and take us to Stonehenge for a couple of hours and then on to Bath.
Best I can tell the 295 GBP ($ 396) they have quoted is about $100 more than if i took train to Bath on Saturday morning and then the Scarper tour to Stonehenge the following morning.
Would appreciate comments from anyone who has done this or other options you are familiar with.

Thanks much

I think it’s important to keep jet lag in mind.

Personally I think you are trying to accomplish too much on your arrival day.

If I’m reading your post correctly I think you’d be better off touring Stonehenge the day after your arrival. It’s not a short ride from Bath to Stonehenge and back.

Scarper Tours is a new one here I think. At least they are honest with their pricing, being the same all year and £60 is not too bad.
If you took the public bus from Salisbury that is £42.50 + train fare of £24.30= £66.80.
So sounds like a reasonable deal.

My only questions are-do they have a minimum numbers policy - might they cancel on you? And how big a fleet do they have - what happens if there is a breakdown?
It almost sounds too good is my cautious point Maybe I'm too cynical, I don't know, especially as they get 5 stars on TA, with zero 1 or 2 star reviews.

Claudia mentions jet lag. I guarantee I would be nodding off in the car after a transatlantic flight and Stonehenge would be wasted on me.

I would head directly to Bath and go to Stonehenge the next day, either with public transportation or on a tour, when you're refreshed.

Here's a post from last year that may be helpful.
