Caution! Premier Inn- double check your reservation dates!

A word of warning....

I have two separate reservations booked with Premier Inn. With both of them, the website confirmed me for one date, but when I go look in my account at bookings, the date on both has shifted to one day earlier. I don't know if it did this based on the time zone I am in, but it is really frustrating! For example, I booked for 19-22 for one stay, and the confirmation emailed to me said as much, but in the website it is listed as 18-21. I tried to amend it with one and it said it was amended (thinking maybe it was my error), but after amending it, it still shows as the wrong dates. For the other reservation, it wouldn't even let me confirm the new date (the box was greyed out). I don't see any easy way to email, chat, or call them. I am on the phone now with my phone provider to try to access international calls.

This has been a known bug for a long time for people booking from north America. The only work around I've found was to set my phone's time to local. (GMT for London.) when making my bookings.

What a super odd and annoying bug! I found an email at the bottom of my reservation and forwarded the reservations to the hotels to ask what the reservation shows. Hopefully I hear back. So frustrating and anxiety producing.

Just checked my upcoming booking on the Premier Inn website (I'm currently in Chicago) and I am seeing the same bug you described. It also applies to all my past bookings as they are displayed on my "Booking history" page, shifting them 1 calendar day earlier. But my e-mail confirmation has the correct (GMT) day for my upcoming stay, so I'm not going to worry about it.

I did get an email back from one of the hotels (County Inn) confirming the dates are as I entered them and what was emailed, not what was on the website. I'm just going to hope the other is the same situation.

I had the same problem several years ago.
Someone suggested using the Premier Inn app and haven’t had a problem since.

I had this exact problem and asked in the forums here about a year ago, and received very helpful advice. I haven't had an issue since, but it was very worrying until I figured it out – what if I arrive and there's no room for me? I have since stayed in Premier Inns in London, Oxford, Reading, Kettering, and Scotland with no issues! This forum is the best.

The app does not have this problem and works better than the PI website which can be quite buggy.

Same experience before using the app.Using the app ,it always states the correct date. And the email confirmation always has the correct gate. It's annoying, but that's how it is.

Yikes, you had me worried. I just checked on a reservation for PI for June and it looks OK. The original email conf says the correct date and when I check on the app it appears there as well. I am not sure how I got it right, hahaha.

Thanks for the head's up.

Thank you everyone. I read the previous post and downloaded the app and it is correct on there. That is great advice.

I live in Canada and have two separate reservations for Premier inn both confirmations sent to me show the correct dates but when I log into Premier inn website to manage my reservation both show up as as the arrival date being one day earlier. I waited to check the website when Canada would be in the same time zone as the UK. It still shows the same. So I called premier inn from Canada and talked to a representative. They did not acknowledge the glitch in their system but they did confirm that my arrival dates were what I was expecting. The dates they had listed showed what my confirmation shows. It's stupid that they have not fixed this problem at their end.

Most companies prefer you use their apps instead of their websites, if they have them.

There are several advantages to the Companies in having you do so. And if nothing else this tends to provide bigger budgets for maintenance and bug fixes for the apps over the website.

I was aware of this bug from previous posts to this forum, so I had triple checked the dates when I made the bookings (I too have a couple of different bookings for my upcoming trip). And of course I HAD to check again today too! Fortunately it all looks good. But thank you for the heads-up....I hope you have a wonderful trip!
