What's a good car service to take from Heathrow to Richmond Hill Hotel?
Are you referring to the neighborhood of Richmond Hill …. Which is basically Richmond. Where exactly are you going there? The venerable Petersham? The Richmond Hill hotel?
If that is Richmond Hill in Richmond it is only less than 10 miles from Heathrow (a bit further if T4 or T5). I would have thought for such a short ride a normal taxi off the rank would have done.
There are car services - I've never used one at LHR - but I don't have a specific suggestion. Sorry
@Claudia, the Richmond Hill Hotel. I edited the OP.
OP thank you for the clarity.
Secondly, never used a car service in all my London visits.
Thus have to agree with Nigel that a taxi from the rank would be fine.
Lastly, is there a reason why you want a car service as opposed to a taxi?
From what I can tell from black cab pricing sites and apps, the cost would be significantly higher than some of the ride services.
This is consistent with my experience in London, where ride services have been much less expensive over longer distances, although they can be less reliable (and within London can't use bus lanes).
I have not used them, but blackberry cars if often suggested on this forum and you can get a quote from them easily online.
If you have had a good prior experience maybe call that company?
Blackberry Cars quoted me £78, which seems expensive. The times I've checked Uber, Bolt and Freenow they have been substantially less expensive, but I worry prices might spike at inconvenient times and some people say they are unreliable from LHR.
78 pounds is about 99 USD. You are going to have trade offs here between convenience and price. You will have to find the method that seems the best for you.
Here are some other price quotes:
London Underground around $10 US each. You handle your luggage and walk to the Underground stations at Heathrow and take the Tube as described in posts above. It involves one cross platform transfer. You will have a seat from Heathrow, but depending on the time of day it may be harder to find a seat on the District line. Then you walk to your hotel pulling luggage or take a very short cab ride. Total Cost about $20
National Express Bus from Heathrow to Victoria Station. Walk up tickets are currently priced between approximately $12.50 to $16.50 each. You only handle your luggage until you reach the coach station where the driver places it under the coach and you climb aboard. Then you walk or cab to hotel from the station. Total cost about $32
Uber/Taxi: I do know that there is a 5 pound fee charged by the airport just for dropping off or picking up someone and then the costs go up from there. You only handle your luggage to the taxi rank or Uber pick up point and are dropped right off at hotel. I'm not sure of the cost, but I used the website taxi-calculator.com and it came up with an estimate of 62 pounds or approximately $78 dollars.
Car Service: They track your flight and wait for you in the arrivals hall at the terminal. They help you with your luggage and drive you directly to your hotel. Your quote was approx.$99.
Only you can choose which of these choices gives you the value/price ratio that makes sense for you. Just choose the one that feels it matches your needs the best.
