Car Service from Heathrow

For convenience sake (the approximate cost will about be the same as trains) we'll probable use a car service from Heathrow to Canterbury. Please let us know of your experiences with car services you've used when arriving at Heathrow. Many thanks.

Because it was a business trip, we used a car service once to pick us up at Heathrow to take us to our hotel in the burbs outside of London. The car was not waiting for us as promised but rather 1.5 hrs late. The driver was very apologetic and nice but it was not a fun experience. The issue was traffic and the wide area the car service covers. His last customer was way the other side of London and... you get the drift. Sorry , I don't remember the online company to avoid, but it is advisable to check out the reliability either through reviews or better yet a referral. I almost always research things extensively and this time I did not and paid for it. Hopefully, you will have better luck for the longer trip!

"Blacklane.com" is wonderful. You can go to their site, enter your information. They will respond right a way with a quote. They send you information about your driver, an hour before he picks you up. He will meet you where you pick up your luggage. They get fantastic reviews on line. It is well run company based in Germany.

We used Empire UK Chauffeur. They met us at Heathrow and took us to our hotel in the city. There was a strike rumored, so we did this to be on the safe side. They were on time and very pleasant. Good experience.

I've used Heathrow Shuttle 5 or 6 times and will use them again. At Heathrow they were waiting as we came out of baggage claim, and on the way back, they were on time at my hotel. With one exception, my experiences have been great. In the one that wasn't, the driver was rude, gruff, and didn't know which terminal my airline flew out of (fortunately, I did). I complained and they have me a complete refund. So I will use them again.

Assuming that they are still in business, shuttles in London don't seem to last that long before they go bust, due to the good public transport and other options (like car services).

When I used them, they offered a car service, which is what I used. But after just looking at their web page, it appears they no longer offer that service.
