Canal Boats in London

Whenever I go shopping at Camden Market I see the small, narrow canal boats coming through with passengers. I'd like to try them when we are in London in July. Does anyone know how to find booking for them?
Thanks!

When googling about British canal boats the magic word is “narrowboat”. My wife and I spent 10 days on a narrowboat in 2016 and will be on one again in a week. A slow, stress free way to see Britain and stay off the beaten track.

These are some of my pictures.

A few years ago we rented a canal boat for a week in the Midlands area with another couple. We rented the canal boat from Black Prince - see below. It was an unforgettable experience. We met so many people from throughout Great Britain and elsewhere. Some people live and travel on their canal boat. We would moor the boat and walk into villages and eat at a different pub every night. We provisioned at a local grocery beforehand so we could breakfast and lunch in the galley on board.

The canal boats - or narrow boats are nearly 70 ft. long. Our had two bedrooms and bathrooms. Since you steer from the rear/stern of the boat it does take a while to get the hang of it. You travel thru various locks and need to hop out and raise or lower the lock.

We traveled thru some long tunnels and it would be pitch black for 10 or 15 minutes with a small light on the boat lighting our path.

Our friends were experiences boaters which helped a lot, but we did see some people with no experience. The canal boats are very sturdy. Black Prince showed us a model of how the locks work and they gave us training on the operation of the boat and then we were off.
