We're planning on renting a car for our May trip to the Lake District, but just learned that May 29 - the day we're leaving- is a bank holiday. Does anyone know if the enterprise rent-a-car in Kendal (or other rental agencies) will allow you to return a car on a bank holiday? The corporate answer is no, but I have a hard time believing that.

When I rent a car, they usually have the hours for each agency location on their site, as they vary depending on location. Have you tried actually requesting a quote for the days you want? I would do that and see what they give you as locations.

Enterprise is a different type of business in many ways, and they play by their own rules.
Have you contacted them and asked?
