We typically take the Heathrow express into Paddington then need a cab/uber to our hotel, however there will be three of us and I am wondering if a car service will be easier/economical to take us from airport to the front door of our hotel. As of now, 3 round trip tickets on Heathrow express will be $124 USD ( 99 pounds) round trip plus the cab fare. Curious to compare. Any experience?
Express also seems much faster - I guess it would depend on your priorities. Do you want to get into London ASAP and pay for speed? Or is convenience of a car service or cab better for you?
I just pulled the trigger on the express train. The price actually was almost the same for a car just based on a quick internet search but 15 to 20 min vs 40 min.'ish" sealed the deal....of course...I have to get from paddington to our hotel but it isn't very far.
The TfL train line also goes to Paddington, is a few minutes slower than the HEX but at a fraction of the cost.
The tube is even cheaper and goes to 275 more places than just Paddington.
Even without considering all the 'Advance' singles, two adults travelling together get 25% off, regular tickets which makes it £92.50 by my calculations.
