So I think Im on the direct website to buy tickets to Les Miserable- Delft Mackintosh Theatres... anyway, I want good seats so Im booking ahead for a show next month but when I do it won't go through. Its wanting a beginning date on my credit card and here in the US we don't have that- does anyone have any secrets on how I go about doing this? I emailed them as well but they insist that I book it through the website. Help if you can.
Give Ticketmaster UK a shot:
Why not call the cardholder and ask for the beginning date?
I called the credit card. They didn't know what I was talking about and gave me something to try but it still didn't work... I think I'll go the Tickmaster UK route. That will work- charges lots of fees- yikes!
I just ordered tickets to the Cavern Club Beatles show in May for when we're in Liverpool and I remember it had that and of course, we have no such thing here in the US so I just skipped it and it worked fine.
I skipped it too and it got denied. Thats when I called me credit card... Its all OK now. I used the ticketmaster UK website and got them that way. Thank you for your help!
I had a similar "beginning date" problem trying to buy train tickets. While I'm not positive, I think the explanation was that it referred to debit cards, not credit cards ?? In any event, Capital One made the 3 way call to the UK. They did this for me several years ago when I was having trouble with Italo tickets. Glad it all worked out for you. We saw Les Mis years ago...stood in line and got the last 2 seats literally as the curtain was going up. Our seats were within the first 10 rows, on the aisle. As the usher raced off, I asked him, "What happened? Couldn't the prime minister make it?" He answered with a smile, "Something like that."
Just for future reference, you can leave the begin date blank. I've booked on the Delfont Mackintosh site a number of times and have never had an issue when leaving that date blank.
In the hope that this helps someone else in a similar situation... My CitiBank Citi World MasterCard has a beginning date.
