Bus tours to Stonehenge/Bath

My Fiance and I will be traveling to London in a few short days. We were exploring the option of going to Stonehenge/Bath for a day. Does anybody have any bus touring companies that they would recommend for such a trip? Also, is a bus trip even the best option to use for such a trip or should we travel by train on our own? Thanks!

I used Evan Evans tours for a trip to Stonehenge/Bath last month and really enjoyed it! I'm sure you could easily get to both locations by train or car, but having a tour bus was so much easier and made the trip much more enjoyable without having to worry about figuring out where to go. I wish we would have had a little more time at Stonehenge but that's just because I really enjoyed going to this site. We had about 2 hours to walk around Bath and that was wonderful as well. I highly recommend this tour company!

Yes, another vote for Evans Evans day tours. We have taken Evan Evans numerous times. We also enjoyed our Bath tour.

Bath should be a full day trip in itself, as you are short changing yourselves if you try to squeeze both into the same day.

Depending on your trip dates you could see if a trip via London Walks www.walks.com fits your schedule. The other OP is correct both in one day is short changing each.

I think there's (almost) always more to see in any location than any tourist has time for. If you try to split Stonehenge and Bath into two trips on separate days, then that's one less day to see London, and is that any better?

If you have only one day to see Stonehenge and Bath, and you really want to see both, then a bus tour is the way to do it (either taking a bus tour starting from London to see both, or taking an early train to Bath and taking a half-day bus tour to Stonehenge from there). It's possible to get to Stonehenge by public transportation on your own, but you need to take the train to Salisbury and then get a local bus from there to Stonehenge. That connection can cost valuable time when you're trying to see a lot in one day.

Thank you for the input! We only have a few days in London, so we are trying to see as much as possible in only a short span of time. It sounds like a bus tour is the way to go. We will definitely check out Evan Evans! Thanks again!
