Bus from Royal Pavilion to Preston Park, Brighton

I'm in Brighton in a couple of week's time on a coach tour and being dropped off near the Royal Pavilion - probably near Stein Gardens at around 10-10.30am.

I'm wanting to catch a bus to Preston Park to visit St Peter's Church. Please can you help me...

  • what number bus do I need to catch - and how frequent is the service? • where is the best place to pick up the bus ? • what stop do I need to get off?

Many thanks for any help - I've tried finding an answer on google and have got completely confused!

The 5 and 5A are every 10 minutes- a turn up and go service from Stand E at Old Steine [Gardens]. The stop is called Preston Drove.

The 270 is a long distance service to East Grinstead (hourly, run by Metrobus), and the 273 a long distance service to Crawley (every hour, run by Metrobus).

But unless you are also going to the Bluebell Railway or Gatwick Airport respectively the 5/5A will suit you fine.

Thank you, that is really helpful. It sounds as if the 5 or 5A service is the best choice.
