We (in our 60s) are planning a 2 week trip from Heathrow west to Bath, Cotswolds, Wells, and a few other places, and were wondering how much trouble it would be with a 2 week coach pass. I know we would save money but would it be worth the trouble over driving. We have driven many times in England but thought we might try something different.
Nobody over 25 travels by coach (long distance bus) in Europe.
Coach is infrequent (often only once per day), slow and uncomfortable. it may be only ½ the price trains, but it isn't worth it if there is a train alternative.
Bath can be reached by train, but if you wish to go further (for example into the Cotswolds) this is best done by car. There are local buses providing services to the towns (from which you can get trains) but they need good research.
Wells is recomended.
