British History for American Kids

Before a recent trip to London with my 10yo grandson, I discovered a great series of books to give him some context about the history he was about to see. They are the "Who Was.....?" series, a NYTimes Best Selling Series of children's books. They're paperbacks, available from Amazon, or possibly from your library. We got Churchill, Shakespeare, Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, Henry VIII, Hamilton, and "What Was D-Day?" They are quick reads for kids, but won't insult an adult reader either. I know the Churchill and D-Day helped him understand the War Rooms, and Hamilton helped us all before seeing the musical.
