Boat ride from Hampton Court Palace

We plan to visit Hampton Court Palace with our 22 year old niece this May. When my husband and I visited in 2019, we went to Kew Garden and took a boat back to Westminster Pier. We enjoyed it very much and thought I would do similar from Hampton.

BUT there are no boats servicing Hampton Court Palace to Westminster in May (at least that I could find). There are boats going from Hampton Court Palace to Richmond and boats going from Kew Garden to Westminster.

So I was wondering whether it would be scenic to go from Hampton Court Palace to Richmond. I was thinking we could then take the tube back to London.

OR we could go from Hampton to Kew Garden dock and then take a boat back to Westminster.

Thoughts?

There should be, there always have been, but all services west of Putney (the end of the Uber boats route from Greenwich and Barking) are traditionally seasonal- although they ran as far as Kew from Westminster until Christmas this year. Sailings from Hampton Court restart on 29 March (Good Friday).

They just haven't got their 2024 timetables out yet. so bookings are not yet open. No one books those boats months ahead of time.

When they do open, probably in early March, bookings are here- https://www.thamesriverboats.co.uk/thames-boats/online-booking.asp

But if you wanted to just do Richmond then either tube or main line train (to Waterloo) that's a very scenic 1/2 trip. It's a bit of a walk at Richmond from the pier to the station, but perfectly reasonable.

Thank you. I saw other sailings scheduled on the website you provided which is why I thought maybe Hampton Court Palace did not have service until June.

And thanks on your insight on the Hampton Court Palace to Richmond sailing.
