Blackfriars Premier Inn Question

Hi All!
Does anyone know whether or not the PI Blackfriars (Fleet Street) has air conditioning in all of the rooms, including Standard? I am aware that some PIs only have a/c in the Plus rooms. Of course, I've checked out their website already, and it's confusing. The main hotel info has a/c listed, but the a/c isn't listed in the inclusions for the Standard Double. I also checked online reviews (Tripadvisor, Google, etc) and people were complimentary about the a/c and I didn't see anyone complaining about the lack of, so that makes me think all rooms do have a/c? We are staying there in late June-July, so for us, no a/c would be a dealbreaker (certainly we'd consider the Plus room instead).

So wondering if anyone has personal experience with this hotel and a/c? Certainly I could call them, but I don't have international calling set up on my phone and I've heard PIs are notorious for not answering the phone anyhow, haha.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,

I’ve stayed in a standard room at this hotel and it did have AC. I was there in July 2024 and the AC kept the room cool.

Happy Travels!

For what it's worth, we just stayed in a Premier Plus room in Bath (with ac) and found the extra space and nespresso machine/fridge) was worth the extra money

If you've already reserved your room, you should be able to find an email address for Blackfriars property in your confirmation email. In my experience, the PI folks do respond to emails sent to those addresses. You're right that telephoning is very often futile, and trying to find a viable email address on your own is very frustrating.

Although I've stayed in two hotels that were only partially air conditioned, they were not Premier Inns (and were not in the UK). I'm not aware of any Premier Inns that have some rooms with a/c and some without, but it's theoretically possible and I don't blame you for wanting to be certain about what you're getting.

Thanks jenspur, it’s reassuring to hear you had a/c. Probably it’s the entire hotel then!

And acraven, you’re right about the email address…we just took a very close look at the Invoice email, and there was one. We are going to email them and will report back to this thread with the result:)

Thanks!

As an update, we received a reply to our email to the Blackfriars PI. They confirmed that all rooms have a/c, so we’re good to go!
Thanks to all who responded!

I agree but the biggest thing for me was that you get the premium Wi-Fi instead of their crappy basic.

Yes, we have considered the Plus rooms to get the mini fridge. Thinking it would be more economical to keep breakfast/light meal items, rather than buying the breakfast at the hotel or elsewhere.
Never really considered the WiFi, but good point:)

I believe all Premier Inns have AC. Whether it’s strong enough for Americans is a different matter. But I’d be surprised if AC wasn’t included.

Always check. The FAQs on this Premier Inn webpage: https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/faq/our-rooms.html include this Q & A:

"Do rooms have air conditioning?

"Not all of our hotel rooms have air conditioning. To find out if your chosen Premier Inn hotel has air conditioned rooms, please see the individual hotel details page."

I agree, acraven! We were looking at additional PI’s in other areas of England for other days of our trip, and I noticed that a couple had disclaimers about not having a/c on the websites (in small print, BTW). That’s what made me look closer at the Blackfriars location, because I had also thought a/c was a given at PI.
So definitely good to confirm:)
