I will be in Birmingham, England at a camp for a week this summer. I may have an afternoon or so for free time....are there any suggestions for anything to do in this area with a free afternoon? Thanks!
will you have a car?
Take a train to Stratford-upon-Avon. www.nationalrail.co.uk (From Birmingham Snow Hill).

Thanks Nigel.......we may have a car in the group of us that will be there but we might not.......
Unless you are right in central Brummagem (as we call it amongst Brummies, and as many years as I had around Brum I feel I can - just over 150 for the family so nearly locals by now) and stand to be badly affected by the tunnel closures this summer, a drive through the Warwickshire countryside to Stratford-upon-Avon (rather than the train, don't take the motorway, watch parking like a hawk in Stratford), or into the near Cotswolds - Broadway, Chipping Campden, that area, would be highly rewarding. Or a trip to a moated manor house now owned by the National Trust, Baddesley Clinton near Solihull which also has a walk around a large pond, a nice restaurant, fabulous gardens.
