Beware planning London travel Northern line Bank Branch to shut for 4 months

There will be a bus substitution (733) paralleling the closed route but this is bound to be slow.

The Waterloo & City Line will be back to full weekday operation on 22 November and this is stated to help through this period.

There will be weekend closures Moorgate to Kennington prior to the full closure.

That news about the City line will be good news for some. Of course it has limited capacity. I think the whole thing will wind up a bit of a dog's brekkie, let's hope it doesn't affect tourists too much. It'll be rough for the City boys (and girls).

It couldn't happen to a better station though.

Thanks for the update. Fortunately we seldom use the Northern line and other than the Angel stop, that we can work around, it shouldn’t affect us on our January trip.

Care to venture a guess as to which will occur first? The bank branch of the northern line or the central portion of Crossrail Elizabeth line? 😉

Crossrail (the purple line, Elizabeth Line) ?? your lifetime or mine? no rush...

It should tie in nicely if the much predicted lockdown happens in January, so nobody will be affected!
