I am planning a trip to London in October, and am considering a Best Western hotel. Does anyone have recommendations for a centrally located hotel, close to public transportation? Thanks for any help.
Can you give us some locations?
I just want to be near public transportation, so that we can easily get to wherever we want to in London easily.
Everywhere in central London is near public transportation.
Then try the Best Western Corona. 5 minute walk to Pimlico Station. 25 minute walk to Buckingham Palace. 10-15 minute stroll towards the Thames. The Grosvenor Pub serves good pub grub. Tachbook bakery has good coffee.
I stayed for several nights at the BW Delmere Hotel near Paddington. It was a few blocks from several tube stations, Paddington Station, and Hyde Park. Not the pleasantest neighborhood but safe and quiet enough. The rooms are very small but the staff was helpful.
But it's true, public transportation is everywhere, and London is so spread out that a "central" location is hard to find. BTW, I found that my BW points weren't usable in the UK, nor were any points acquired in the UK usable in the US. So if that's why you're looking at BW, it's probably not going to work. YMMV.
Hi, BW credit card holder here.
The most central ones are Delmere, Mornington, Corona, and a few others. If you zoom in on the London map on the Best Western website that will help.
To Dick's comment - not sure if his experience was recent - but I used points via a BW travel card (I used my points to redeem for the card on the BW website before traveling) at a Best Western in Oxford. It took the front desk staff a few extra minutes, but they accepted it.
