best walking tour of sites in london

Hello,
I was wondering if folks can share a walking tour both self guided or guided for a group of 5 (3 teens) no more than 2 hours that would include some big sites like Buckingham palace and sites nearby. thanks Laura

You can piece together your own, by getting together information on Buckingham Palace, then wandering over to "Big Ben" and picking up the Westminster Walk tour, available in Ricks London book, and on this website as an audio tour: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/england

That would probably fit the bill perfectly.

You could also look for something suitable with London Walks, an excellent company that offers a great experience at a good price. They have a regular schedule, or they can set up something specific for you at, no doubt, a much higher price.

Do it yourself. The stroll along Birdcage Walk from Parliament Square to Buckingham Palace is easy.

Parliament Square includes the buildings of Parliament, Elizabeth’s Tower (the clocktower ) Big Ben which is the bell, and Westminster Abbey….

Believe a good portion of the scaffolding from the Tower has been taken down allowing you to see the clock face again….

From your accommodation take the London Underground to Westminster Station. Exit and turn right away from the Thames and Westminster Bridge.

Cross the street at the light and get your pictures of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Depending on your travel dates investigate if you can book a tour of Parliament. https://www.parliament.uk/visiting/

If you wish to see the Abbey go with
either a London Walks ( www.walks.com) or book a Verger’s Tour.

OR wander about by yourselves taking all the images your cell phones can handle. Take time to adjust to the crowds, the noise and the reality traffic flows the opposite way. No matter what the crowds do NEVER cross a road without waiting for the green light.

From Parliament Square walk towards St. James Park. Turn left and follow Birdcage Walk to the Palace. If lucky and if after 11am you might hear the Changing of the Guard band marching back to the Wellington barracks. If you must see the Changing of the Guard go early to stake out your spot.
