Two of us are going to Reading on 1 November
Our hotel is near the British Museum. What’s the best train station to go out of? Does St Pancras and Paddington have elevators or escalators? It’s one way.
Thanks!
Paddington, as that is the station used by trains to Reading.
You don't have a choice. Each mainline station in London serves a different route out of London. Trains to the west, including Reading, depart from London Paddington.
No trains to Reading from St Pancras.
Paddington station itself is on the same level as the road, no steps or escalators. If you are arriving by tube, whether you have just steps or escalators depends on which line you arrive on. As far as I remember, all tube lines at Paddington have at least some steps to the surface. The deeper lines (Bakerloo) have escalators and then a few steps.
P.S. You can also get to Reading from London Waterloo, which serves destinations south-west from London. This is a longer route, and takes longer.
