Coach & Horses, Rose & Crown, Chesterfield Arms, Golden Lion.
Claudia, thank you!
I think I stayed at that hotel many years ago. I remember some casual reasonably priced pubs in the close by Shepherd Market area. Possibly the Market Tavern was one of three I visited. The cask conditioned ales were outstanding. I don't remember eating there, but the online menu looks good.
CollinsDtc, thank you!
If you want a non pub meal, then Le Boudin Blanc in Trebeck Street has never disappointed over the past 20 years.
Pubs - The Guinea Grill, Ye Grapes, The Coach and Horses (I prefer the Bruton St one to the Hill St pub of the same name) and The Marlborough Head. I haven’t been in any of these since Covid hit so don’t know if any changes have been made.
If you want to check more closely on these pub suggestions, you can type the name into Google Maps and usually find the place's website with menus for food and drink.
The Guinea Grill was quite good, known for it's steak and kidney pie (I had steak and mushroom -- yum) was just there last week...It has quite the steak and roast menu and is known for that... And it's a lovely smallish pub with really cozy bar... I would definitely go back.
also Shepherd's Market pubs were good when I stayed there about 7 years ago. That was a fun little neighborhood tucked away and surrounded by the more upscale Mayfair area. Nice to see even if you just walk through..
Thanks to everyone for the recommendations!
