We will be doing the best of England/Wales tour in late June. If you have been on the tour this year (or recently), where were the opportunities for doing laundry? We plan to wash some things in the sink but trying to decide how many days we can stretch it before laundry is available. Thank you!
Laundrymats in the UK are called Launderettes.

Having just returned from 3 weeks in England (my fifth trip), a few thoughts re laundrettes. They really vary: in some of them soap is included with the wash, in some you'll have to supply your own (the laundrette may or may not have some to sell).. Some laundrettes are cash (coins) only and may or may not make change for you; others take cards. So scope out what's in your town for the various options. Personally I really enjoy doing laundry on my travels (Belgium, all over Italy and England) - it's a great way to relax for an hour and often chat with the friendly owners or workers.
We just returned from 5 weeks in the UK. I'll second what msmithbothel wrote and add that it is easy to find them using Google Maps. For example, enter "Skipton UK launderette" into the search function and a map comes up with all locations in Skipton of launderettes (and laundry services).
