Travelin this summer by Bus on the RS best of England starting inBath. Does anyone who has done the tour before know what highways were used. I would like to plot it on a map. Thanks.
Call the RS travel office for specifics. Each tour is probably different.
As much as I’d like to tell you this will work, I’d say each bus driver and guide may have their own routes. I know, for instance, the drivers take different routes into Wales. We took a scenic route on back roads but it wouldn’t have been worth it if the weather were yucky. They may also differ due to traffic.
The bus driver may have a road atlas instead of just using GPS. On the Wales day I had the front seat, saw the atlas and asked if I could look at it. Ben the fabulous driver just laughed, made a remark about back seat drivers and I enjoyed the whole drive with the atlas on my lap!
I know this is not your tour but on the Southern England tour last summer the traffic was so miserable on the Motorway coming back from Cornwall that the driver and guide made the decision to get off and go cross country on less main roads. It was wonderful!
Better yet, and this was also on the South England tour, at one point the traffic had been so bad that we took a train instead of the bus.
