Best National Rail app?

I went to download "the National Rail app" and realized there are actually a few...I don't see one that is the official one? Is there one that everyone uses or is the best?

National Rail Inquiries is the main App.
I also have Fastroute which is like a departure board and seems accurate

Every company (around two dozen) has its own app, and every train company can sell all major tickets on all trains throughout the UK.

National Rail has the overview of all the trains just like on the app, and is the only official one even if some third party tries to copy it. National Rail has a blue background and white "crows feet" on the button. They are not tied to any company, they are run by the association of all (nearly) the companies.

Third party ticket sellers also have apps (watch out for extra charges and restrictions, some have also issued incorrect tickets over time in my experience) and are able to sell tickets throughout the country.

Individual companies sometimes offer special deals only available on their trains from their app/website. It is always useful to look at the app of the actual train company you are traveling on.

Thank you--that description of the icon was so helpful. I just so so many and wasn't quite sure which one to use. I purchased a Britrail pass and opted for the M-pass but I think you don't actually download it until you are about to use it? I wanted to print out a copy to bring along as a backup and have it up on my phone as well. Do I need to download an additional app for the Britrail pass?

somebody else will have to answer questions about Britrail pass. I've only encountered the paper ones, have no idea about electronic ones.
