Best mode of transportation from the Residence Inn at Marriott Tower of London to Heathrow tomorrow

My husband and I leave London for Newark tomorrow. Is there a direct train near the Residence Inn at Marriott Tower of London (Bermondsey area) to LHR? If so, what would our second best option be if there is a problem with train strikes? Thanks so much to this forum. You've helped make our two-week trip, delightful.

Best is subjective.

There is no direct train. By public transportation, from London Bridge station, take the Jubilee line to Green Park. From there, transfer to the Piccadilly line to Heathrow. It wlll take between 1:15 and 1:30 and cost 5.50 GBP per person. (Make sure you get on the right Piccadilly line train as not all go to Heathrow and not all go to your departure terminal whatever that is.)

The other way, for door to door service, is to book a car service. Your hotel can help you with that.

There is no train strike tomorrow. You do know from which terminal you are departing?

Thanks, Frank II. We're departing from Terminal 3 for a noon United flight.

Don’t quote me but I believe the new Elizabeth Line goes to Heathrow and to Terminal 3.

If you have uploaded the Tfl website you can check.

It does, although it is more expensive (for a single ride on a day anyway) and offers little time advantage on this particular journey at present (will be different when through running starts).

One point to add for Green Park: whatever the signs say, do the transfer by coming up to the surface and going back down again.

To make a noon flight you will need to give yourself extra time as the tube will be crowded at that hour with people going to work. It all depends on how early you want to get there.

If three hours before your flight, then leave around 7:45.

If you only have carry on luggage, and can get your boarding passes before heading to the airport, you could leave a little later but give yourself at least 1:15 to 1:30 to get to the airport. Luckily, all Heathrow bound trains stop at Terminal 3 but there is a bit of a walk from the tube station to the terminal. (the stop is "Heathrow Terminal 2 & 3.") It's all underground.

I'm not sure I understand that. Do we come up and go down again to go a different direction?
Thanks everyone. We will leave @ 7:45.

We've now been delayed to a 2:50 departure and on a different plane. Our terminal is now Terminal 2. I don't know if this makes a difference in our tube journey. Unfortunately, we've lost our Premium Plus seats and now are in Economy. Ah, well--it's a beautiful day and has been a wonderful trip ending in the Churchill War Rooms.

You get off at the same stop at Heathrow. But your journey will be less since you will now be traveling off-peak.

We ended up taking the Jubilee line to Green Park and transferred to the Piccadilly line to Heathrow after rush hour. We were able to sit. So easy and efficient.

Heathrow was abominable, however! We waited over an hour just to check our bags. This line was for all airlines, not just ours and there were only two workers with @ 8 stations without workers. There was no signage for any station--checked bags, security, etc. Then, there were the security lines, again unmarked. We were told to "go over there" for security. Nothing was marked. "Over there" were easily five different "clusters" of over @ 250 people each but there was no indication of what the groups were about. Finally, we found a woman with a sign which said, "End of the Line" OF WHAT? We questioned her and it was the security line. No one actually looked at our boarding passes to direct us to appropriate lines (which would have moved us to shorter lines) nor did anyone approach the crowds to inquire if anyone might miss a flight due to the long lines. Everyone had to find a worker (not easy) and ask for help. Overall, we stood in lines for over three hours before getting to our gate. Our gate was incorrectly posted twice, so go from one gate to another to the correct one. "Fortunately" our flight was late. United has a message on their website that due to a shortage of workers at Heathrow, we should arrive four hours before our flight. Believe them!
I will post this separately, as well.
