Best London Neighborhoods via AirBnb - No Hotel

I've researched a few topics for the best places to stay in London, but they all seemed a little more oriented to hotel districts and not housing districts. We are hoping to find a good neighborhood with good bars/food (I'm a big beer nerd) that is still on public transportation close to the tube. I've seen most bars near Borough market, but still not sure if that's a neighborhood or not. Let me know what you think!

We just rented an apartment for early November in the Fulham area. It ticks all those boxes - market, banks, restaurants, near the tube and buses, nice neighbourhood. Take a look on Google map and Wikipedia.

I am not a London expert by any means but did research areas to stay and spent many hours pouring through all the rental sites before making a decision on an apartment in Clerkenwell. It is walking distance to Angel tube, bus stop, Islington cafes, bars, Exmouth market and walking distance to Kings Cross and Russell Square. We also enjoy staying in a neighborhood and will be in London long enough (8 days) to get at least a small taste of London life in a neighborhood. Good luck with your search.

Fulham, Kensington, Camden, Pimlico, Notting Hill,
Clerkenwell. All of these neiborhoods are fine and not sure what “bars” you are looking at around Borough Market. Are you commenting about the little cocktail glass icon you see via Google maps?

There are wine bars BUT Pubs are where you’ll find your beers.

Different country, different nomenclature for where to enjoy a beer. Craft beers are popular. I’m sure you can Google which pubs are the best for those.

You are going to have to do some research. Many, if not most, pubs in the central London area are part of a chain and serve the same beers.

If you do a google search of "London Craft Beers" you will find articles on where to find the best ones.

You could definitely find a place near Borough Market as that will give you a plethora of food choices.

To clarify on the "bars", being a big beer fan I am looking for places that would serve beers from local breweries, or visiting the taprooms of the breweries themselves. However, having a more local feel with good mid-priced restaurants is probably more important. It seems like Covent Garden and areas north could be appealing. We are also flexible to locate to Greenwich, as we have some friends living there.

Mid priced means how much to you?

London is not an inexpensive city. So clarity needed on what you mean when you say mid priced restaurants. You’ll not starve in London. Tons a great spots for a good hearty meal.

Plenty of breweries options to investigate as craft beers are popular https://www.google.com/amp/s/london.eater.com/platform/amp/maps/best-craft-beer-london-pubs-taprooms

Unless a sporting event is on Ive found that mid after noon pubs are quiet. 1pm-4pm.

Then the after work crowd arrives for a pint, they go home. Then another crowd arrives around 8pm and stays till last call.

FYI don’t be surprised to see mums with prams and babies, families with children and dogs in pubs. Pub history is intriguing https://www.historic-uk.com/CultureUK/The-Great-British-Pub/.

Lastly take a gander at this website. www.fancyapint.com
